The 女性中心 staff is committed to increasing the knowledge and involvement of students, staff and faculty around issues pertaining to women and gender. To meet the needs of our university community, 我们提供深入的, personalized learning experiences for your students, 生活小组或俱乐部.

Presentations are typically 1.5-2 hour sessions that include lecture, discussion and interactive activities. Presentations can be shortened to accommodate a 50-minute class period. For all presentations and guest lectures, a minimum attendance of 10 people is required.

What presentations are available?

A 女性中心 is a vital component of a thriving university campus. In this mostly informative session, we will talk about the history of the University of Idaho 女性中心, how it relates to the women's movement, 我们所做的, the services and programs we provide, 你怎样才能参与进来, and why it's so important that we're here.

Moving from Ally to Accomplice
How do we apply our knowledge and understanding of exclusion to become more inclusive? This workshop will emphasize the importance of recognizing our implicit bias, and offer strategies for engaging in meaningful solidarity with others. How can we progress from actor to ally to accomplice, and become part of a community of love and resistance?

身体革命
A brief history of the evolution of body image and the ever-changing standards and norms of "beauty." This presentation casts a critical eye on today’s trends and their consequences, and presents hope for a revolution.

101年女权主义
A crash course on the mission, goals, and history of Feminism. We examine the waves of Feminism and their most notable leaders, along with the role Feminism plays today.

Through discussion and interactive scenarios, this workshop introduces the skills necessary to transform debate to respectful dialogue. We explore how mindful conversation can derail the debate culture and create a more compassionate way to communicate with others. 

Respecting Boundaries: Preventing Sexual Harassment
This workshop will engage participants in discussing what sexual harassment looks like and how to identify it in our learning environments and workplace. The session will also outline the crucial steps of active bystander intervention in situations of sexual harassment. We will discuss the effects of sexual harassment on victims, and offer strategies for how best to support victims as peers or colleagues.

健康y Relationships: Love Shouldn't Hurt
This workshop will engage participants in discussing aspects of healthy relationships, including how to identify potential violence within romantic relationships, and direct and indirect approaches to intervention when concerns arise. The session will include discussion of forms of abuse commonly found within relationships on college campuses, and how to be a resource for individuals seeking support systems on campus.
